Our story and purpose

The Wolf Project is a survivor-led safeguarding charity based in Hampshire. We exist to ensure that every child and young person is heard, understood, and protected, particularly those with SEND, neurodivergent conditions, or communication differences.

Safeguarding beyond spoken words

Traditional safeguarding often relies on verbal disclosure, leaving vulnerable young people at risk. We provide accessible resources, tools, and training for schools, healthcare workers, social care professionals, and families.

Rather than only asking ‘What is happening?’, our approach encourages professionals to also ask ‘What does this person need right now?’ and consider how safeguarding feels to the child in distress.

Transforming survival into strength

The frightened child we see today is not defined by what has happened to them. With the right protection, understanding and support, they can find their voice, rebuild their sense of safety and grow beyond survival.

The Wolf Project exists because safeguarding should do more than recognise harm. It should see the whole child — their communication, their needs, their potential and the person they are still becoming.

Our aim is not simply to help children survive what is happening today, but to protect their chance to thrive tomorrow.

“Don’t only protect the child they are today. Help safeguard the person they still have the chance to become.”
